Alan Marshall Bray

Alan Marshall Bray, 66, of Oakdale, passed away Sunday (April 9, 2017) at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London.  Born Oct. 3, 1950 in Southington, he was the son of the late Robert and Shirley (Langer) Bray.  Alan raised his family in Montville and worked as an auto parts manager for many years.   He enjoyed the quiet serenity of the outdoors – fishing and camping with his family.  Alan also loved animals and was a benefactor of the ASPCA.  His greatest joy, however, was found in his family; especially his grandchildren.  He leaves his wife, Valerie (Sarno) Bray; two daughters and their spouses, Melissa and Paul Blais of Salem and Alison and Ramon White of Groton; son, Eric Bray of Groton; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Robert Coggeshall: two brothers, Robert and William Bray; grandchildren, Tiara White (Robert), Trinity White, Brittany Dumond (Matt), Alex Blais (Rachelle), and Kasey (Hanna), Olivia, Tristan, Graison and Dawson Blais; five great grandchildren; four nephews; and several friends.  The family will receive guests from 9 to 10:30 AM Saturday (April 22nd) at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester, before a Chapel Service at 10:30 AM.  Burial will follow in the Salem Green Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington 06111.
