Joan V. (Felton) Simmons

Joan V. Simmons, 63, of Amston, passed away suddenly at Hartford Hospital on October 27, 2017.  Born in the Bronx, NY on December 20, 1953, she was a daughter of the late James and Johanna (Blackburn) Felton.  Joan was an ever devoted mother and grandmother.  She will be sadly missed but always remembered by her daughters, Kerri and her husband Dave Bruno, with whom she made her home in Amston, CT, Jennifer Conlan, also of Amston; two step-children, Christina Erickson of GA, Eric Simmons of FL; two sisters, Maria Geffers of PA, Noreen Philbin of FL; four grandchildren, Madison, David, Jr., Matthew, Molly, her former husband, Thomas Conlan of Long Island, NY and numerous extended family and friends.  She was pre deceased by a brother, James Felton. 
Calling hours will be held on Thursday (Nov. 2nd) from 4 – 6:30pm at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd,. Colchester, with a Chapel Service immediately following at 6:30 pm.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to benefit her daughter Jennifer, in the Whole Life, Ellington Day Program for Developmental Disabilities.  216 Broad Street, New London, CT 06320.
