Kevin Russell Blakeslee

Kevin Russell Blakeslee, 65, of Lebanon, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017 at Hartford Hospital.  Born on January 13, 1952 in Norwich, he was a son of Russell and Helen Jonica (Grabber) Blakeslee of Lebanon.  Kevin was a Systems Analyst for Lego.  He retired several years ago.  Having lived in Lebanon for most of his life, Kevin took great pride in his community and was involved in many areas.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lebanon where he also sang in the choir.  He was involved with Lebanon Little League, the Lebanon Community Chorus and the Republican Town Committee.  Kevin was also a long time member of the Masons, Wooster Lodge #10 A.F. & A.M. in Colchester.  Most importantly, his greatest happiness was when he was spending time with his family.  He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, and how he felt at home in the world and had a deep love of nature and connection to the land.  He taught his children to love and respect the earth.  He will be sadly missed but remembered with love by his children and their spouses, Jesse and wife, Shannon of Lebanon, Terra Zuidema and husband, Travis of Chaplin and Kyle Blakeslee of Lebanon; stepson, Joe Monarca and wife, Ashley of Colchester; companion, Bonnie LeBlanc of Lebanon; brother, Frank Blakeslee and wife, Amy of Lebanon; two sisters, Laurie and husband, Thomas Clark of Corinna, ME and Sandy Blakeslee and spouse, Linda Finelli of Lebanon; eight grandchildren, Will, Carolyn, Hunter, Dara, Isaac, Chloe, Robert and Nick; former spouse, Martha Harvey of Lebanon; and numerous extended family and friends.  Calling hours will be held on Sunday (Nov. 19th) from 2 – 4 pm at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester.  The Funeral will be held on Monday (Nov. 20th) at 11 am directly at the First Baptist Church of Lebanon, 694 Trumbull Hwy, Lebanon 06249. Burial will follow in Old Center Cemetery, Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to First Baptist Church of Lebanon.
