Maryan C. (Caffrey) Pent

Maryan (Caffrey) Pent, 80, of Colchester, widow of the late Charles H. Pent, Jr., passed away on Tuesday (May 24, 2016) at Middlesex Hospital Hospice after a lengthy illness.

Born February 4, 1936, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Hofmann) Caffrey.

Maryan retired several years ago after having worked as an LPN for the VA Hospital in Rocky Hill for 20 years and later for Apple Rehab in Colchester for another 10 years. 

She leaves three children, Charles H. Pent, III of Lewistown, PA, Christine Luna of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Carol Ann Pent of Cromwell; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Donald Caffrey of Ansonia; and numerous extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband, who passed on April 16, 2016, she was predeceased by a son, Gerald Pent, in 2009; as well as two grandchildren.

At her request, there will be no services and she will be laid to rest privately in the Higganum-Burr Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care at Middlesex Hospital, 28 Crescent St., Middletown 06457.

Care of arrangements has been entrusted to the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester.
