Richard Lombard Geer

Richard Lombard Geer, 67 of Lebanon, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017 after a battle with melanoma cancer. Born in Willimantic on March 14, 1950, he was a son of Norma (Hanson) of Lebanon and the late Harold Geer.  Rick was raised on the family farm in Lebanon and graduated from Lyman High School.  He worked as a professional truck driver. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved nature, hunting and farming. Rick will be sadly missed but always remembered by his long-time companion, Cheryl Hathway of Windham; his mother, Norma Geer; a son, Thomas Geer of Groton; a daughter, Stephanie Geer of Plainfield; six siblings, Ronald Geer (Wynn) of Florida; Russell Geer (Angeles) of Lebanon, Linda Heatherly (David Ferling) of Lebanon, Kathy Geer of Columbia, Sandra Belisle (Pierre) of Lebanon; a sister-in-law, Debra Geer of Plainfield; a grandchild and numerous extended family and friends.  In addition to his father, he was pre deceased by a brother, Rory Geer.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 10:30 am at the First Congregational Church of Willimantic, 199 Valley St. Willimantic, CT.  Burial will be private.  Donations in his memory may be made to the Lebanon Historical Society, P.O. Box 151, Lebanon CT 06249.  The Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester has been entrusted with services.
