Alice C. (Stevens) Sharkey

Alice C. Sharkey of Colchester and formerly of New Rochelle, NY, widow of the late Thomas A. Sharkey, passed away Thursday evening (August 17, 2017) at the age of 85.

Born in New Rochelle on July 29, 1932, she was the daughter of the late George and Alice (Seacord) Stevens.

Mrs. Sharkey had worked as a secretary in real estate for many years before her retirement. Friends and family will remember Alice for her love of animals, especially her little dog, Johnny; but moreso, for her great sense of humor and love for her family.  

She leaves three daughters (and their spouses), Karen and Robert Giglio of Yorktown, NY, MaryAnn and Kevin Holt of Wallkill, NY and Elizabeth and James Post of New Windsor, NY; eight grandchildren, Kevin, Christopher, Michelle, Lisa Marie, Meghan, Roger, Matthew and Caitlin; five great grandchildren; her dear cousin, Patricia Corcoran of Salem; and numerous extended family members and friends. 

Friends may call starting at 1 PM Sunday (Aug. 20th) at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester until the time of the Chapel Service at 2:30 PM.  Burial will be private.

Donations in her memory may be made to the animal rescue charity of one’s choice.
