Christine Ellen Walker

Christine “Chris” Ellen Walker, “Chris”, 63, of Colchester and formerly of West Hartford, beloved wife of Paul Barton Walker, passed away Friday (Dec. 1, 2017) after a long, valiant battle against cancer. The beloved of the late Thaddeus and Charlotte (Mazurek) Laski, she was born in Hartford on Sept. 23, 1954, and grew up in West Hartford. Chris was a graduate of Conard High School. After graduating, she and Paul married and started their family. A lover of both children and animals, she gave her time to special needs children and throughout her life was a tireless advocate for mental health care and various cancer support groups. Her first love, however, was her family, and to them she gave unwavering love and support. Her spirit will remain in their hearts and minds forever. In addition to her husband, she leaves their three sons, Paul, Jr. of Ridgway, PA and Blake and Kevin, both of Colchester; her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Arthur Carpenter of Pt. Townsend, WA; a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Colette Laske of Southington; her mother-in-law, Joan Cox of Bloomfield; her brother-in-law, Kenneth Walker and his wife Susan of West Hartford; and numerous extended family and friend. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Middlesex Hospital Hospice Unit for the kindness, care and compassion that they showed to they and Chris during her parting from us.  In accordance, with her wishes, care of private arrangements has been entrusted to the Aurora McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the animal rescue charity of one’s choice.
