Christopher Steven Grabarek

Christopher Steven Grabarek, 38, of Suffield and formerly of Franklin, passed away at home on October 27, 2017 after a long battle with the disease of addiction.  Born in Norwich on September 14, 1979, he was a son of Steven and Donna (Reese)  Grabarek.  Chris was a very kind and sensitive soul.  He was an avid reader.  Loved nature, and over the years rescued many hurt or abandoned animals.  He especially loved fishing with Beau and Kylie.  He will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by his parents, Steven and Donna of Franklin; his companion, Joanie Bergdahl and her children Kylie and Beau, with whom he made his home in Suffield; two brothers, Daniel and his wife Chelsea Grabarek of Franklin, Travis Grabarek of Colorado; paternal grandparents, Henry and Shirley Woodka of Franklin; maternal grandparents, Robert and Joan Reese of Brooklyn; and numerous extended family and friends. 
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday (Nov. 1st) from 5 - 7pm at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd, Colchester.  The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10:30 am Thursday (Nov. 2nd) directly at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 67 West Town St., Lebanon.  Burial willl be private..  Donations in his memory may be made to the animal rescue of one's choice, the local soup kitchen, or the Haitian Health Foundation in Norwich.
