Frances Irene (Jello) Duntz Hiltz received her wings Friday, November 3, 2017.  The daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Mazurkiewicz) Jello, she grew up on the family farm in Lebanon and married William H. Duntz Jr., also of Lebanon. Frannie did secretarial work for many years at Darien Brothers in Norwich and S&S Leather in Colchester. She then worked for Rogers Corporation in South Windham until she and Willie moved to Stuart, FL in 1979, remaining there until Willie’s death in 1988. Frannie moved back to Connecticut and worked for the Norwichtown Convalescent Home until her retirement.  Frannie married Thurl “Phil” Hiltz in 1992. They lived in South Windham. Together the couple enjoyed traveling until her health started to decline.  She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely. She was also an avid reader and loved her flower gardens.  Frannie leaves her husband Thurl “Phil” Hiltz; daughters, Debra Duntz Richards (John), Carli Duntz Baton (partner, Steven Holmes); stepdaughter, Brenda Hiltz Gagnon (Gary); grandchildren Ashlee, Andrew, John Alex, Joe, Scott (Serena), Anastasia (Ricardo) and Eric Sr.; great grandchildren, Eric Jr., Joshua, Gabriel, Jordyn, Aleyah, Rio and Astraea.  She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Jello Beaudoin (Norman); brothers Stanley and Raymond Jello, sisters-in-law Marilyn Jello, Beverly Duntz, Marion Lussier and Carlene Drysdale; and brother-in-law Derwood Hiltz.  Frannie had a very special relationship with her godchild and niece Lisa Beaudoin Tarvin.  She also leaves many nieces and nephews.  Frannie was predeceased by her parents; Willie Duntz, her husband of 37 years; brothers, Henry, Edward and Richard Jello; and Carli’s husbands, Keith, Adolfo and David.  She was a wonderful woman who will be missed by all.  The family would also like to thank Douglas Manor Nursing Home for the excellent care she received.

The family will receive guests 4 – 7 PM Wednesday (Nov. 8th) at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester.  A Chapel Service will be observed at 5:30 PM during the visitation.  Burial will be private.  Donations may be made to Hartford HealthCare Hospice, 1 State St., Ste. 19, Hartford CT 06103 (www.hartfordhealthcareathome.org/donate).
