Helen A. Lecce, 82, of Norwich, passed away on November 13, 2018 at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London. Born in Norwich on January 15, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Regina (Elia) Lecce. Helen retired several years ago after a career as a Physician’s Executive Secretary for Norwich State Hospital and Connecticut Valley Hospital. Prior to that she owned and operated her own florist shop in Montville, known as Helen’s Flower Garden and worked as a legal secretary for local attorneys and judges. Throughout her lifetime, Helen was a faithful and devout communicant of the Roman Catholic Church. She loved animals, especially her cats and beloved dog Puff Puff. Much of her time was spent caring for her great nieces and nephews. She leaves to mourn her loss, siblings, Bob and his wife Carol Lecce of Salem, Beverly Lecce of Norwich; Goddaughter and niece Melissa Trigenis of Darien; nephew Robert Lecce of Mystic; a cousin, Marian Orlinski of Colchester, several great nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was pre deceased by a brother, John Lecce and two sisters, Mary Altieri and Carmella Tarrant.
Services will be held on Monday, November 19th beginning at 12 noon with visitation, directly at Our Lady of Lakes Church, 752 Norwich Salem Tpke., Oakdale, CT. The Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the Salem Green Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the local animal shelter or animal rescue of ones choice.
