Helen O. Russo

Helen O. Russo, 95, of Lebanon, passed away at home on May 4, 2019 with her family by her side.  She was born on February 29, 1924 in Colchester, a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Kessler) Okonuk.  Helen married her husband Orlando Roland Russo on January 2, 1943.  The couple made their home and raised their family in Lebanon.  Helen worked side by side with her husband on the family dairy farm and also drove a school bus for many years.  She was a hard working woman who took care of her family as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She was predeceased by her husband on November 4, 1997 after 54 years of marriage.  Helen was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Lebanon.  She will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by her children and their spouses, Roland and wife Marion, Robert and wife Linda, Richard and wife Lynn, Debra and husband Ralph Pearsall, Patricia Botticello, all of Lebanon; ten grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and extended family and friends.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Russo; a son-in-law Victor Botticello, a brother, John Okonuk, and a sister Josephine Kessler.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 8th at 10:30 am directly at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 67 West Town St., Lebanon, burial will follow in the New Lebanon cemetery. The Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester has been entrusted with care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Helen’s memory to Neighbors Helping Neighbors Lebanon Food bank, P.O.
