Ida Brown Obituary

Ida W. Brown, 100 of Colchester, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Backus Hospital. Ida was born in Colchester on November 29, 1918. The daughter of the late Allen H. and Gertrude (Mead) Brown. After graduating from Bacon Academy, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1941 from the University of Connecticut. After teaching for one year at Bacon Academy, she moved to Denver, Colorado where she lived and worked for more than 40 years. Besides her parents, Ida was predeceased by her brothers Lawrence, Arthur, Gilbert, and Allen Brown, and Sisters Alice B. Moran and Winifred Von Roemer. Ida looked forward to weekly visits from her nephew Allen Moran and sister-in-law Frances Brown. She was extremely appreciative of her caretakers Ada, Barbara, Jody, Mary and Sherri.
