LEBANON – Irene K. Wengloski, 89, widow of the late Nicholas Wengloski, passed away peacefully Friday, July 6, 2018 at Apple Rehab in Colchester. Born Oct. 24, 1928 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Katherine (Lempart) Rybarz. For many years, she operated the family farm in Lebanon along with her husband and brother-in-law. Thereafter, Irene worked as a bookkeeper in the area until her retirement, when she and Nick were able to travel, visiting many places including Asia, Europe and Australia. Mr. Wengloski predeceased her on August 25, 2014 after 61 wonderful years of marriage. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Lebanon and a life member (and past Vice President) of the Ladies Guild. Irene was avid fan of both the Red Sox and Celtics, but her greatest joy was found in her family, especially spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She leaves two sons, Michael Wengloski and his wife, Jeannette Tuvey, of Mansfield and Stephen and wife, Barbara Wengloski of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Michael (and wife, Laura), Jonathan, Christine, Timothy and Chad; and many extended family and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by six siblings, Stanley, Edward, Helen, and Stephanie Rybarz, Charles Musial and Ethel Cholawa.
The family will receive guests from 2 – 4 PM Sunday (July 8th) at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10:30 AM Monday (July 9th) directly at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 67 West Town St., Lebanon (06249).
