I was deeply saddened to hear the world has lost Jackie. In the time I knew her she was a vibrant, sassy and endearing person. My brief time overlapping with her at Uconn was terrific and I enjoyed playing a bit of a role as a surrogate older brother to her, at least in my mind. Condolences to her wonderful family.

To Jackie's family,
I was shocked and saddened to learn of Jackie’s passing.
I had the privilege of working with Jackie during my time at Upstate, from 1999 to 2007. Jackie was incredibly smart, kind, gentle, and caring. We could never have maintained our productive lab without Jackie – she was essential to everything we did.
I clearly remember how seamlessly Jackie combined professionalism and scientific rigor with warmth and compassion in all of her many encounters with the complex and seriously mentally ill patients with whom we worked.
She was a joy to work with.
