James Stone, Jr. Obituary

James Edward Thomas Stone, Jr., age 36, of Colchester, passed away unexpectedly on May 18, 2018 at his former home on the Golden Hill Paugussett Indian Reservation in Colchester.  Born in Hartford on September 11, 1981, he was the son of Bambi (McGoff) Stone of East Lyme and James E. Stone, Sr. of Glastonbury.  Jimmy was a graduate of Bacon Academy and went on to earn his Associate’s Degree from Three Rivers Community College.  He was a tradesman, working in a wide variety of carpentry fields.  Jim was a communicant of St. Andrew Church in Colchester.  He enjoyed fishing, snowboarding, tennis, scuba diving, bowling and swimming at Red Cedar Lake in Lebanon.  Jimmy played drums and loved music.  He will be remembered fondly as a big kid at heart, kind, generous and always willing to lend a helping hand.  Jimmy will be sadly missed but always remembered by his loving parents; his sister and brother-in-law, Jenny Stone and Nicholas McMahon of Colchester; his beloved nieces, Molly and Mabel; and numerous extended family members and friends.  A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be observed 2 PM Saturday (June 2nd) at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester.  The family will receive guests starting at 1 PM prior to the service.  He will be laid to rest privately in Ponemah Cemetery, No. Westchester.  Donations in his memory may be made to NAMI (www.nami.org).
