John Albert Strenkowski, 80, of Lebanon and formerly of Montville, passed away peacefully at home after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on September 16th with his family by his side. Born in Norwich on November 1, 1938, he was the son of the late John and Helen (McClosky) Strenkowski. As a young man, John and his family moved to Lebanon, building a family farm there. When John met Virginia (Cummings), the couple quickly fell in love and married on July 1, 1961. The couple stayed in Lebanon where they raised their family and built their business, Tri County Machine, where John designed, created, and built custom tools and machinery.
John was a hard-working man who was devoted to wife and family. He will be sadly missed but always remembered by his loving wife Virginia; son, Dick and his wife Lorraine (Cone) and their three sons, Joshua, Benjamin, and Matthew Strenkowski all of Lebanon; a brother, Robert Strenkowski of Louisiana; and numerous extended family and friends. Donations in John’s name can be made to CancerCare by contacting donate@cancercare.org. A memorial service will be held for John at the First Congregational Church of Lebanon on Saturday, September 21st at 10am. The Aurora McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester has been entrusted with arrangements. For online condolences, visit www.auroramccarthyfuneralhome.com
