Miroslaw Waldemar Mikunda

Miroslaw Waldemar Mikunda, “Mirek”, of Colchester, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the age of 59.  He leaves his loving wife of 36 years, Margo Gosia (Repa) Mikunda; their two sons, Maximillian of Middletown and Mateusz of Colchester; a brother, Zbigniew of Middletown; Margo’s parents, Janina Mierny and her husband, Ludwik of Colchester and Piotr Repa of Poland; his brother-in-law, Marek Repa of Salem; and many friends.  Born Dec. 29, 1958 in Lębork, Pomorskie, Poland, he was the son of the late Andrzej and Helena (Luczynska) Mikunda.  He and Margo were married in Paris, France, on Jan. 7, 1982 and emigrated to the United States in November of 1983.  Most recently, Mirek worked as a property manager along with his wife in her real estate business.   He was an avid cyclist in his spare time and always liked to stay busy, whether it be working outdoors or on automobiles.  The family will receive guests from 10:30 – 11:30 AM Saturday (April 14th) at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester before the celebration of the Funeral Liturgy at 12 noon at St. Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Avenue, Colchester.  Burial will be private.
