Pauline Helen (Dumont) Cranton, 96, of Hebron and formerly of North Haven, widow of the late William G. Cranton, passed away peacefully Christmas Eve (Dec. 24, 2018) at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 16, 1922 in Haverhill, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Alvinia (Perron) Dumont. Mrs. Cranton had been a resident of North Haven since 1960 and was active in the community. She was a member and communicant of St. Barnabas Parish in North Haven and was a member of the Women’s Group there. Pauline had also been a volunteer at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford for over 35 years. In later years, she moved to Amston with her daughter and son-in-law and became a communicant of St. John Fisher Parish in Marlborough. She leaves three children, Maryanne and her husband Mal Leichter of Amston, Nancy Cranton of Santa Fe, NM, and Kathleen Cranton of Fairfax, VA; three grandchildren, Jenifer Easthom, Elizabeth Leichter and her husband, Michael Bogue, and William Leichter; a great granddaughter, Gianna Bogue; two sisters, Lucille Dumont of Haverhill, MA and Adrienne Mosher of Newburyport, MA. In addition to her spouse and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Normand and Gerard Dumont.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10 AM Friday (Dec. 28th) directly at St. John Fisher Church, 30 Jones Hollow Road, Marlborough. The family will receive guests at the church starting at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow the service at All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue, North Haven.
