MYSTIC - Robert Wm. Applebee, “Bob”, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Apple Rehab in Colchester. Born October 3, 1953 in Hartford, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Helen (Chalany) Applebee and brother of Carolyn Applebee Sagen of Colchester and John Applebee (and his wife, Bonnie) of East Hampton; whom he leaves to mourn his passing but cherish his memory; along with their families. Bob had worked for the Town of Chester Public Works Department for a number of years. He was an adventurous soul, who loved the outdoors and traversing the country many times. Bob also enjoyed music, as well as painting and drawing in later years. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 1 PM Wednesday (April 25th) directly at St. Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Ave., Colchester. The family will receive guests at the Church starting at 12:30 PM. He will be laid to rest privately with his parents in Resurrection Cemetery, Westbrook. His family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff of Mystic River Residential Living, where Bob had been truly cared for like family for the past 20+ years; as well as Apple Rehab Colchester and Hospice SECT for ensuring his comfort over these last few months.
