Ruth Elizabeth (Cornell) Delaney

Ruth Elizabeth Delaney, 94, formerly of Vernon, passed away at Harrington Court in Colchester on Sunday, September 29th. Born in Haverhill, MA on June 14th, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John and Eva (Spencer) Cornell. As a motivated and determined young woman, Ruth obtained her degree in nursing and had a long successful career with the Vernon VNA. She enjoyed the simple things in life such as reading a good book and tending to her garden. Ruth’s greatest joy in life came from being devoted to her family and sharing a special bond with her grandchildren April, Rachel, Emily, and Ian. 

Ruth will be sadly missed but remembered with love by her children, Albert Delaney, Gregory Delaney, Diane Delaney and spouse Alaina Dall, Lois Alexander, Sheila DeLuca; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends. Ruth’s family would like to express that they are forever in gratitude to the staff at Harrington Court for the excellent care and compassion they have provided over the years.

The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, October 25th at 11am directly at St. Andrew's Church 128 Norwich Ave Colchester.
