Stephen Foti, of Colchester, passed away at home on March 31, 2019. He was 60 years old. Stephen was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 7, 1958. He was a son of the late Felix and Alice (Moore) Foti. Stephen grew up in Windsor, and graduated from Windsor High School. He majored in music in college and worked in the entertainment industry for most of his career. Most recently, Stephen worked as a stage hand with Local Union 84 in Hartford. Stephen married Maria Trujillo on June 30, 1991. The couple lived in California for 17 years where their son Felix was born. Stephen dedicated over ten years to an instrumental music project, which he took part in faithfully and where he wrote, composed and performed with other talented musicians in Ontario, CA. Stephen was very versatile and talented. He worked in sales for a time and was a self- taught carpenter, a trade that he practiced while living in California. Stephen’s work led him to many opportunities where he was able to meet many athletes from his favorite teams such as the Patriots and many other concert performers whom he admired. Stephen also enjoyed antiquing, home restoration and refinishing furniture. Most importantly, Stephen was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his son, nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by his wife Maria; son, Felix Foti of Colchester; siblings, Susan and her husband Mark Joanis of Windsor, Vincent Foti, Teresa Balkus-Bouthet of Windsor, Jean Foti of Manchester; nieces and nephews, Allison, Ryan, Katelyn and Justin Regier, and baby Elle, Matthew, Andrew, Althea, Leah; and numerous beloved extended family and friends.
The family will receive guests Tuesday, April 16th from 5 - 8 PM at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave, Windsor. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday (April 17th) at St. Gabriel Church, 379 Broad Street, Windsor, CT. The family will welcome visitors one hour prior to Mass at the church. A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held at the cottage on Lake Hayward at a later date to be announced.
