Wayland “Pat” Patterson, 78, of Lebanon, beloved husband of Maryann (Degutis) Patterson, passed away Sunday (Dec. 9, 2018). Born Feb. 28, 1940 in Rumney, NH, he was the son of the late Lyman and Gladys (Quimby) Patterson. Mr. Patterson served proudly with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and went on to work as a union operating engineer for Manafort Brothers for 42 years before his retirement. In his spare time, he had loved to dance as well as hunt, fish and clam. In addition to his loving wife of 56 years, he leaves three children, Laurie Broderick (and her husband, Dennis) of Plainville, Roger Patterson of Plainville and Kimberly Patterson of Lebanon; a daughter-in-law, Carrie Patterson of Plainville; a son-in-law, Harold Bard of Tolland; nine grandchildren, Kenneth, Jennifer and Matthew Broderick, Joseph, Jonathan, Jasmine and Julia Patterson and Holly and Ryan Bard; two great grandchildren, Zoey and Mattia, III; two siblings, Marie Barker of No. Carolina and Wayne Patterson of Bristol; and numerous extended family and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers, Wyllie and Wendell Patterson. The family will receive guests from 5 – 7 PM Thursday (Dec. 13th) at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. A Chapel Service with military honors will be observed at 6:30 PM. Burial will be private.
