Alan Frederick Lamb, 67, of Lebanon, passed away on January 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born December 9, 1957, in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Alfred and Anne (Lord) Lamb. Alan grew up in Lebanon and graduated from Lyman Memorial High School in 1975. Alan attended Springfield Technical Community College where he earned an associate degree in automotive technology. He married his wife, Alicia (Dudar) Lamb, in 1984, and the couple settled down in Lebanon where they raised their family. For nearly 40 years, Alan worked as an assistant parts manager at Kahn Tractor & Equipment in North Franklin while also working on his family farm in Lebanon. Alan served the town of Lebanon for over 12 years as a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Alan lived and loved the farming life; he looked forward to spending most of the day outside working with his hands, in the fields, or on anything mechanical around the farm. He always had several projects going at once to keep him busy. Alan’s passion for farming was matched only by his passion for watching Jeopardy; anyone who knew Alan knew it was forbidden to call while Jeopardy was on.
His greatest joy in life came from his family. He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Alicia, his daughter Katie Baldi and her husband Matthew Baldi, son William Lamb and his girlfriend Jamie Duff; sister Margaret Lamb and her husband Chris Clark; and numerous other extended family and friends. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 5 to 7 PM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd, Colchester, CT. A funeral service will be held the following morning at the funeral home at 10 AM, followed by burial in the New Lebanon Cemetery on Waterman Rd in Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network www.pancan.org or to Connecticut Farmland Trust, 77 Buckingham Street, Hartford, CT 06106 ctfarmland.org.
