Albert Honnel Searles, 74, of Colchester, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Backus Hospital. Born May 12, 1950, in Hartford, Connecticut; he was a son of the late Daniel Searles and Evelyn (Osgood) Searles. Albert grew up in West Hartford and worked for many years at Allied Printing in Manchester, CT. When his children were growing up, he would volunteer his time coaching little league and football seasons and serving as an umpire. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, walking the beach and traveling with his wife Donna. However, his greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family. He will forever be remembered as a devoted Husband, Father, Papa, Grampy, Uncle and Big Al to many, many friends. He is survived by his wife Donna Searles; daughter Alison Soleau and husband Charles, son Michael Searles and wife Cory; grandchildren Evelyn and Mallory Searles; and his brother Daniel Searles; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings Joan, Evelyn, Diane and Donald; and his sister-in-law Joanne Searles. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 5 to 7 PM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home 167 Old Hartford Rd, Colchester, CT 06415.
