Albert Tays Obituary

Albert R. Tays, age 82, of Lebanon, beloved husband of Rita (Cote) Tays, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 11th with his devoted family by his side. Born in Dedham, MA on April 8, 1938, he was the son of the late James & Hilda (Chmielorz) Tays. As a young man, Albert enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving our country. On May 24, 1958, Albert married his high school sweetheart, Rita, at St. Bridget Church in Manchester; the couple made their home and raised their daughter in Lebanon where they have now resided for over 56 years.

Before retiring, Albert worked for many years as a project manager in the construction industry where he took part in designing many different structures for commercial buildings in the New England area.

Albert was a kind and gentle soul who would help anyone. He was humble and always stayed true to his values. Albert was an animal lover and had a special affinity for dogs.

Albert was a devout Catholic, steadfast in his faith. He was a communicant of both St. Andrew Church in Colchester and St. Francis of Assisi Church in Lebanon.

In addition to his beloved wife of over 62 years, Albert will be forever loved and missed by his daughter, Shawn and her life partner, Jim Pinette, both of Manchester; his honorary family members, Mark Bauer and Charlie & Mary Ellen Wieczorek; his beloved St. Andrew Church family members; and numerous extended family members and friends. In addition to both of his parents, Albert was predeceased by his brother, James Tays, Jr.

Albert’s family would like to thank Hartford Healthcare Hospice for their kindness, compassion and special care throughout Albert’s final days.

A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Tuesday, December 15th at Saint Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Ave., Colchester. Burial will follow in New Lebanon Cemetery, Waterman Rd., Lebanon.
