Alice Reed, of Colchester, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, with her beloved family attentively by her side.  She was 88 years old.  Alice was born in Norwich, CT on July 28, 1937, to the late Thomas and Ethel (Taylor) Smith.  She grew up in Colchester and attended Bacon Academy high school.  As a young mother, Alice worked on the Sanzone family farm where they lived and raised their children.  Alice was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She took pride in her home and loved planting beautiful flower gardens all around her yard.  Alice was a member of the Colchester Federated Church. She was a talented crafter with sewing, painting and creating many other types of handmade treasures.  She also loved spending time with her beloved pet, Lilly. In 2006, she married the love of her life, Stanley Reed.  The couple moved to Zellwood, Florida, where they enjoyed retirement.  Stanley sadly predeceased her in 2016.  Alice will be tremendously missed but always remembered with love by her daughter, Donna and husband Rob Brown of Colchester; her daughter in law, Shawna Sanzone of NH; her grandchildren, Robbie and his partner Jamie, Samantha and her husband Stephen, Sandy and her husband Rich, April and her husband Rex, and Nick; her great grandchildren, Carter, Colton, Andrew, Ashya, Patrick, Avery, Logan, Jade, and Trista; her great-great grandchildren, TJ, Tegan, Remi, Cora, and AJ; her brother, Tom Smith of Wilton, CT; dear friends, Mike and Lori Mathis of Florida; and many extended family members and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Dominick Sanzone, her sister, Myra Ackerman and her brother, Bob Smith.  Care of arrangements has been entrusted to Aurora McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester. A graveside service will be held on October 20, 2025 at 11am, directly at Linwood Cemetery, Colchester.
