Ana Melus Parola, of Colchester and formerly of Rotonda West, FL, passed away early Monday morning on March 11, 2024 at the Marlborough Health and Rehab Center where she had recently been residing. Ana was born in Calatayud Spain on July 26, 1941, a daughter of the late Juan Melus Gimeno and Josefa Navarro Ruiz.  Ana was 82 years old. Ana met her future husband, Carlo Parola while he was stationed with the US Air Force outside her hometown of Calatayud, Spain. The couple were married and then emigrated to the states in 1969, settling in South Hadley, MA where they made their home and raised their son, Taber.  In 1977 they moved to Colchester, CT. Ana was a skilled seamstress, making clothing and doing alterations and worked for Go Fly A Kite in East Haddam as well as Buxton Leather in Colchester for income as well as being a devoted homemaker in her own home for her family.  She was also a devoted Catholic woman, later attending church at Saint Francis of Assisi in Port Charlotte Fl. Where she was actively involved with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus and enthusiastically volunteered help for the church’s spaghetti dinners. Ana then attended Saint Andrews after returning to Colchester. Ana will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by her son, Taber and his wife, Kelly of Colchester; their children, Cameron, Madison and Marissa Parola; as well as family members in Spain; and many extended family and friends.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated on March  20th at 10:00 am directly at St. Andrew’ s Church 128 Norwich Ave. Colchester, CT.  A burial will follow at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, CT.  There will be a funeral service in Calatayud Spain at a later date to be announced.
