Anita Lee Obituary

Anita Lee of Colchester, passed away on January 13, 2023 at Salmon Brook Nursing and Rehab in Glastonbury where she had recently been residing due to her failing health.  She was 87 years old.  Anita was born on August 18, 1935 in Dover, NH, a daughter of the late Edmond Joseph and Bernadette (Gagne) Charest.  She married Woodrow (Buster) Lee in 1957.  The couple made their home in Colchester where they raised their family. Buster predeceased her while living in their retirement home in Florida in 2006.  Anita loved going to lunch  with her dear friends, Jan Arch and Barbara Anabel.    In her spare time, Anita loved working puzzles, league bowling, and planting flower gardens in her own back yard.  Anita will be remembered for the kindness she showed to everyone and for her devotion as a loving wife, mother, adoring Nanny to her grandsons, and friend to all who knew her.  She is survived by her daughters, Deborah and her husband Al Estell of Higganum,  Roxann and her husband John Rush of Colchester, with whom she made her home after Buster’s passing; grandsons, Michael and Jesse Fellows; and many extended family members and friends.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Lori Lee, and six siblings.  Funeral services will be held privately according to her wishes.  The Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester has been entrusted with care of arrangements.  To share a memory or express a condolence to the family, please visit: www.auroramccarthyfuneralhome.com
