Arthur Strickland, Jr. Obituary

Arthur William Strickland, Jr., of Moosup and formerly of Lebanon and Colchester, passed away on June 17, 2022 at Douglas Manor in North Windham where he had been recovering from a difficult struggle with lung disease.  He was 71 years old.  Born in Hartford on July 12, 1950, he was a son of the late Arthur W. and Rose (Bryant) Strickland.  He married his beloved wife, Cheryl Lynne Hodge on June 27, 1992.  The couple made their home and raised their family in Moosup, CT.  Art, also fondly known as Bub, was a handyman who was self-employed, working maintaining properties and yards.  He loved country music and going fishing.  Most importantly, he will be remembered as a fun loving family man.  He will be sadly missed but remembered with love by his wife of 30 years, Cheryl; his son, “Bill” Arthur W. Strickland, III of Delaware; two daughters, Tammy Waite of Lebanon, Mary Strickland of Willimantic; a brother, Richard Strickland of Tennessee; two sisters, Gladys Bryant of Hebron, Mary Adams of Colchester; four grandchildren, Lane, Sierra, Nathan, and Shawn Strickland; and numerous extended family members and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Donald Strickland and two sisters, Rose Lajoie and Dorothy Sargent.  Funeral services will be held privately according to his wishes.
