Bart is survived by his best friend and the love of his life, Maureen (LeMieux) Nicolo.  They married on February 26th, 1962 and were married for 60 years.  He attended RHAM High School, the graduating class of 1958.  He then went on to working at Lipman Motors in Hartford Ct, where he was a technician for many years.  After leaving Lipman Motors, he was employed at Miner Motors in Willimantic, Ct., as a new car salesman.  After leaving sales, he decided to go on to achieving the ability to teach and inspire others in the automotive field.  He studied at Central Connecticut State University where he was able to move on to his long career as the Department Head Automotive Teacher at Windham Tech.  He was loved and admired by staff and students and received the honor of being elected for the “Teacher of The Year” in 1990.  He retired from Windham Tech. in 2004.

Bart had such a passion for music.  He played the bass guitar in several rock bands.  He would also perform playing music for weddings, celebrations, school dances, etc. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors where he had a passion for fishing, boating and spending time at their beach house in Port Orange, Florida.  If he wasn’t outdoors, he enjoyed watching Nascar, rooting for Joey Lagano, #22,. With all of these passions, his most sincere joy in life was his family.  He will forever be loved and remembered by his wife, Maureen Nicolo of Amston, his son, Bartholomew Nicolo, Jr., and his wife, Brenda of Hebron, his son, Robert Nicolo of Colchester, his sister, Annette Nicolo of Amston, his grandchildren; Bart Nicolo III, and his wife Kristine of Salem, Kristy Nicolo and her fiancé, Ethan Brunhofer of Indianapolis, Indiana, Seth Nicolo and his girlfriend Rachel Woodmancy of Hebron, and Ashley Nicolo and her fiancé, Patrick Shenberger of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, and two great-grandchildren, Isla and Crew Shenberger of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, a Great-niece, Jill McAvoy of Taftville, and numerous extended family and friends.
