Betty Anne Brunet, 80, of Colchester, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Backus Hospital in Norwich. Born July 1, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY; she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Gyome) Huron. Betty moved to Colchester shortly after her birth and moved into the family home which her father built. Betty attended and graduated from Bacon academy, and then went on to work for 35 years as a secretary for the Board of Education in Colchester until her retirement in the 1980’s. Prior to her retirement she and her husband Roland world travel the country in their motorhome and camp out at various national parks and campgrounds. When she wasn’t out camping, she enjoyed spending a night out at the local casinos. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Brunet of Colchester, her stepson Timothy and his wife Amy Brunet; her brother Dennis Huron and wife Mary of FL; step grandchildren Cody and Lexi Brunet; and other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her niece Kelly Huron. Care of private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Aurora- McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
