Charlie retired several years ago after a long career as a master carpenter with his special talents creating beautiful cabinetry.

He was a resident of Hebron for 60 years and was a member of the Hebron Sportsmans Club since the early 60s and loved fishing in both fresh water and ocean. Charlie loved fishing, hunting and camping in Pulaski, NY where the fishing trips were memorable. He was a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker and a gentleman farmer most of his life at the SueSisCinChuck farmstand. Everyone knew they could find him in his beloved workshop. In the 1970s, he built the Corn Shed in Hebron. Charlie owned and operated the store which sold fruits and vegetables also where he formed many long, lasting friendships. During that same time (70s) he could be heard on the CB radios chatting regularly with some wonderful friends, his handle was Woodchopper.

Charlie will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by all who know him, especially his children and their spouses, Chuck (Yvonne) Oliver, Jr., of Hebron, Sue Oliver (Earle Fredericksen) of Bolton, Catherine (Glenwood B.) Campen of Andover, Cindy Lukaszewicz (Everett Reaviel) of Willington; siblings, Paul Oliver of Amston, Mary Oliver, Judy Westcott of Moodus, Margaret Arnold of Amston; 5 grandchildren, Stanley, Michael, Tyler, Cody, Benjamin; 4 great grandchildren, Calvin, Milena, Colsen, and Aaliyah; and many extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents and spouses, he was predeceased by grandsons, Shawn and Garrett; a brother, Anthony Oliver; and his dog Oliver. The family would like to thank the staff of Mansfield Center for Nursing & Rehab for the care and kindness given while Charlie resided with them.
