It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Charles “Charlie” Jonathan Robinson of Salem, CT.  Charlie passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT.  He was born on September 5, 1987, to Jonathan D. Robinson and Jean Lazar in New London, CT. Charlie grew up in Salem and was a graduate of Eastern Connecticut University. From a young age Charlie held a deep passion for sports. He especially loved baseball, basketball and football and followed numerous professional teams; he was able to memorize and quote statistics for all his favorite players as a child. His passion for sports did not stop in childhood. For years he played softball for local leagues and was an avid collector and seller of rare baseball cards. This passion, combined with his handy nature, led him to open his own business restoring and selling antiques called “History Reborn”. It was through this business that he met his future fiancé, Emily King, at her antique shop. He is survived by his parents Jonathan Robinson and Jean Lazar; fiancé Emily King; grandparents Francis D. Robinson and wife Dorothy Robinson, and Joan R. Robinson; his dog Wilson; and numerous other extended family and friends. Charlie’s family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the members of emergency services and staff at the emergency room for all their compassion and efforts during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Charlie to the ASPCA  www.aspca.org.
