Clifton Norman Michaud Obituary
Clifton Norman Michaud, also fondly known as Clif, 83, passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2025 at the All-American Assisted Living in Kingston, NH, after a period of declining health and a long battle with dementia. He was born on January 5, 1942 in Caribou, ME, son of the late Felix Michaud and Annie (LeClair) Michaud.
Clif grew up in both Caribou and Van Buren, ME, and was the youngest of seventeen children in his family. Following his graduation from high school, Clif proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving honorably during the Vietnam Era as a transport aircraft mechanic. His service took him to many places throughout the world, though he was fortunate not to see combat. Clif enjoyed reminiscing with others about the many places he had been stationed.
After his honorable discharge, Clif married the love of his life, Robertine Desjardins, on August 6, 1966. The two met in high school. Together, they raised their daughter, Claudette, and made their longtime home in Lebanon, CT.
Professionally, Clif enjoyed a career as an electrician and was a proud member of the IBEW Local Union No. 35 for more than 55 years. He valued both the work and the camaraderie he shared with his fellow tradesmen. He lived a simple and meaningful life. Though he and Robertine were not active churchgoers, they lived with deep faith and strong values.
Clif was a talented woodworker and took great pride in the work he had done on his home. Above all, he cherished time spent with his daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughtersespecially following Robertines passing on her 57th birthday, April 17, 2001.
Despite the challenges of aging and declining health, Clif embraced the opportunity to remain close to family. He chose to move with Claudettes family while they resided in Minnesota for seven years, Texas for two years, Utah for three years, before eventually returning to the Northeast just most recently. Clif never complained about the changes and was always grateful to be along for the ride, bringing joy to his caregivers and fellow residents with his kind way and penchant for speaking French to everyone.
Clif is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Claudette Michaud-Diaz and Diego Diaz, his two beloved granddaughters, Aspen Diaz and Winter Diaz, and his step grandson, Koa Diaz.
