Daniel C. Slenkamp, born on November 17, 1958, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, in Norwich, Connecticut. Known for his warmth and kindness, if he called you "buddy," you knew you held a special place in his heart. Daniel's passion for NASCAR and all types of racing was infectious. He enjoyed the open road, the thrill of trucking, the freedom of riding his Harley, and his Pittsburgh Steelers.

Daniel was a graduate of East Lyme High School and went on to successfully own his own trucking business, reflecting his unwavering dedication and entrepreneurial spirit. 

He is survived by his loving daughter, Jessica McCready and husband Mic; fiancé and partner in life, Danielle Gilmore; his cherished mother, Phyllis (Cram) Slenkamp, and Sarah McCarty. He was predeceased by his father, Harry Slenkamp. He also leaves behind his closest friends who were family to him.

Daniel’s family will be accepting guests on Saturday, April 5, from 5-7 pm at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, located at 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. Daniel's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
