David Joseph Creamer

David Joseph Creamer of Colchester, CT passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the age of 67. David was born on November 3, 1955 in Amityville, NY to the late Richard Louis Creamer and Rosa Dolores Perez. When David was young, the family moved to Barkhamsted, CT where he enjoyed freedom and adventure with siblings and friends. He attended Northwest Catholic High School where he played on the football team, graduating in 1973. David received a degree in Fine Arts from Central Connecticut State University in 1978. He enjoyed working in landscaping, and then took a position as a cartographer for Connecticut Light & Power. He took great pride in his work; his knowledge and attention to detail made him highly respected in his organization. He retired from Eversource in 2021. David was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking and camping, but particularly loved to fish. He was drawn to nature, especially the sea, and took beautiful photographs. David is survived by his children Gregory Creamer of New London and Gloria Creamer of Oakdale; his former wife Teresa Creamer of Bozrah, his siblings Richard Creamer and his wife Beatrice of Florida; Bei Creamer of West Hartford; Raquel Creamer of Cromwell; Jose and Vaden Creamer of Alpharetta, GA; Damaris and Jack Prendergast of Bristol; Dolores Creamer of Pittsboro, NC and Cristina and Bill Downes of Barkhamsted, as well as several nieces and nephews. David was a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was loved and respected by those who knew him and he will be dearly missed. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 4 to 6:30 PM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home 167 Old Hartford Rd, Colchester, CT 06415. A memorial service will take place immediately following calling hours at 6:30 PM.
