David Wiant Menge, was born in Brookville, Pennsylvania ,on June 8, 1947, to Robert Wallace Wiant, Sr. and E. June Davis. He was later adopted and raised as the son of Dr. Henry and Ruth Menge of Beltsville, Maryland. After a nineteen-year battle with cancer, David passed away on February 22, 2024, at Middlesex Hospital, surrounded by the family he loved. David proudly spent twenty years serving in the Coast Guard, retiring as a Master Chief, extending his career as an electrical engineer at Electric Boat supporting the Ohio Class ship control systems. Besides his loving wife Pat of 53 years, David is survived by his daughter Jennifer Andrew and her husband Marc. He was also delighted with the addition of granddaughters Kaleigh and Melannie, who affectionately called him Pap, and whom he adored. He is also survived by his sister Joan and brother John, both of Clarion, Pennsylvania, and brother Paul of Lompoc, California, sisters-in-law Judy Wiant of Marble, Pennsylvania, and Lois Cooley of Rock Hill, South Carolina. Donations may be made in David's name to St. Jude Children Research Hospital or Ronald McDonald House. There will be no calling hours.
