Dean R. Ouellette, 36, of Colchester, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 8, 2024. Dean was born on July 18, 1987, in Hartford to his loving parents, Joseph “Chet” Ouellette and Lise (Roy) Ouellette.
Dean graduated from Bacon Academy in 2006 and had been working as a solar panel installation technician for Tesla. Prior to his work at Tesla, Dean served as a dealer and floor manager for many years at Mohegan Sun. He loved being a part of the Colchester community and even earned his coaching certification that allowed him to volunteer as a varsity baseball coach at Bacon Academy. Dean was an avid sports fan who loved all sports, especially the New York Giants and Boston Red Sox, and also enjoyed competing in Colchester’s Recreation Softball League.
Dean found great comfort and peace in the natural world, and always looked forward to a great hike through mountains and forest trails throughout New England. The outdoors served as a sanctuary for Dean, who searched for new ways to spiritually connect himself with the world around him. He took great interest in practicing yoga, energy flow and meditation.
Dean was a warmhearted, gentle soul and had an outgoing nature that endeared him to many. He always sought to be helpful and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He loved his family dearly and they loved him right back—always remembering him as a helpful, charming, intelligent, and caring young man.
Dean’s memory—and all the lives he touched—will live on forever and he will never be forgotten.
Dean is survived by his loving mother, Lise Ouellette; his sister, Michelle Fearon and her husband, Michael; his brother, Marc Ouellette and his wife, Victoria; his nieces, Arya and Lennon; his nephews, Owen, Paul, and Otto; and his many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Chet Ouellette.
Dean’s family will receive friends from 4-6PM on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester, CT 06415. A Memorial Mass for Dean will be celebrated at 10AM on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Guardian Angels Parish, St. Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Avenue, Colchester. A private burial ceremony will be celebrated at a later date. Memorial donations in Dean’s honor may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, P.O. Box 49104, Baltimore, MD 21297.
