Debra Andrysiak Obituary

Debra Marie Andrysiak, 70, of Colchester, passed away at her home on July 18, 2022.   Born in Bridgeport, CT on June 7, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Rita (Harrold) Janco.  Debra grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut where she met and married her husband and best friend, John H. Andrysiak, who predeceased her in 2019.   They shared 42 years together traveling to Hawaii, Ocean City, the Biltmore, and Lake Placid among other destinations while raising their family in Colchester. Debra took great pride in home decorating, party planning, and crafting. She was a talented seamstress and an avid lover of a good book, especially at her pool or on the beach with friends. When not out enjoying the good life, she could be found binging Jeopardy, Law and Order, or making The Godfather marathon a family requirement on Thanksgiving afternoon. However, her most precious time was that spent with her grandchildren. After Debra retired from a career in accounting, she was fortunate enough to take care of her grandson, James during his first years and had begun to pass on those same crafting skills to her granddaughter Charlotte.

She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered with love by her children, Michelle (James) Stotler of Middletown, Matthew Metz of Fall River, MA; two beloved grandchildren, James Stotler III and Charlotte Stotler; two siblings, Kenneth Janco of Norwich, Jennifer Johnson of Carthage, ME; a sister and brother in law, Carol and Joe Ruszczyk; many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Michael, Steven, Mark, and Keith Janco.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 25th at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester from 1 – 2:20 PM., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 3:00 at St. Andrew Church 128 Norwich Ave. Colchester.  Burial will be held privately, at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to Disabled American Veterans, www.dav.org.   For online condolences, please visit www.auroramccarthyfuneralhome.com
