Denise Lynn Grey of Salem, CT, passed away on November 3, 2022 at Backus Hospital in Norwich after a terminal illness. She was 53 years old. Born on August 31, 1969 in Hartford, she was a daughter of Nancy (Walden) and Stephen Mislick of Temecula, CA, Denise also leaves her husband of 22 years, Christopher Grey; her children, Kyle Hoyt of Uncasville, Tori Grey of Salem, Mason Grey and spouse Asia of Colchester; two grandchildren, Penelope and Mia; a brother, Troy Mislick of Lexington, KY; a sister, Christine Missick of Temecula, CA; mother in law, Carolyn Grey and numerous extended family members and friends. Denise was predeceased in death by her daughter, Athena, her sister, Dawn Sampson, and her father in law, James Valliere. From the time she was a young girl, Denise had an avid love of horses. She was a hunter jumper competitor for many years and most recently, she was the horse barn manager at Infinity Horse Farm in Lebanon. More importantly, Denise loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and caretaker for her granddaughter Penelope after her work day was done. She will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by all who knew her. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 7th from 5 – 7 PM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 8th at 10:30 AM at the Congregational Church of Salem 244 Hartford Rd., Salem, CT. burial will follow in the Salem Green Cemetery.
