Diane Marie McNichols

Diane Marie McNichols, of Colchester, passed away at Middlesex Hospital on January 16, 2023. She was 77 years old. Born on May 29, 1945 in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late George and Gertrude (Codero) Hemsworth. Diane was a successful Realtor in the 80’s, helping many families to find their perfect home. She later turned her talents towards the crafting world where she was a busy craft artist, creating many items for friends and family. Most importantly, she will be remembered as a woman who was fiercely devoted to her family. She loved caring for her children, grandchildren and anyone who walked through her door. She treated everyone as if they were family, and would always have fresh cookies to offer. She greatly enjoyed cooking for her loved ones and was happiest hosting family gatherings and holidays. Her passing will be mourned by many, but she will always be remembered with love by her children, Lori Miller and her husband John Saitta of Rockfall, David McNichols of Montville, William Nantz, Jr. of Colchester, Mark Nantz of Colchester, Christine Foley and her spouse Richard Krepcio, Jr. of Colchester; her brother, Frederick Solmo of Colchester; eight grandchildren, Taylor and Heather Miller, Phoebe and Zander Nantz, Kyle and Ethan Foley, and Dylan and Emily Krepcio; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Diane was predeceased by her first husband, William Nantz in 1969 and her second husband, Ronald McNichols in 2005. Funeral services will be held at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester on Saturday, January 21st beginning at 9:30 am with a calling hour, and the funeral service at 10:30 am.
