Donald Richard Taylor, of Colchester, passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford after a long and difficult challenge with his health. He was 56 years old. Born on December 17, 1965 in Middletown, he was a son of Diane Taylor of Colchester and the late Neil Taylor. Don grew up in East Haddam, attending Nathan Hale-Ray High School. Following High School, he went on to work in construction, most recently for Roger Palmer Concrete. Don was an avid fan of NASCAR and the Washington Red Skins. His favorite past time was fishing. Don will be remembered as a man of few words with a great big heart. He will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by his sister, with whom he made his home, Pamela Cole of Colchester; a brother, David Taylor of Utah; a brother in law, Jamison Cole of Colchester; nieces, Hailey Cole and Mercedes Caron, both of Colchester; a favorite Aunt, Nancy Partridge and many extended family and friends. A celebration of Don’s life will be held at a later date to be announced. The Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester has been entrusted with care of arrangements.
