Our mom, Dorothy May Clemons, 99, of Salem, CT; formerly of Colchester, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 23, 1924, to Joseph and Katherine (Hughes) Thrippleton of Laconia, New Hampshire. She graduated Laconia High, class of 1942 and married our dad, Robert Seavey Clemons on March 25, 1945. They started married life at the San Diego Naval Base where our dad was stationed. After mustering out, they returned to NH where we lived until moving to Lake Hayward, East Haddam, in 1958.

We could always count on our mom to be there for us. She acted as our Brownie leader, Girl Scout leader and chaperone and chauffeur for many school events. She loved her gardening, all kinds of crafts and cake decorating became her passion. She was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Colchester and the Ladies Guild where she used many of her crafting skills.

She retired in 1989 from the Traveler's Insurance Company in Hartford after 30 years to embrace her role as grandmother. She loved her grandkids - all of them, and there are many. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Januszewski of Salem, where she lived since 2021, and Katherine Wolk of Holly, MI; her grandchildren, Dawn Gregoire, Raymond Wolk, Jr. of Michigan; Virginia Wolk-Martin of Colchester; Carrie Wolk-Wood and Sherry Wolk, also of Michigan, a host of great and great-great grandchildren, as well as many extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, K. Louise Towers, Frances Leith and brother James Thrippleton of New Hampshire.
