Edward "Ed" Dembinski, 95, of Salem, Connecticut passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on December 8, 1926, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lottie Dembinski. Edward married his beloved wife Emily on July 25, 1959 in Hebron. The couple made their home in Salem where they raised their two daughters Ann and Karen, they shared 60 years of marriage together until she predeceased him in 2019. Edward loved the outdoors whether it was snowmobiling in the winter or gardening in the summer. Edward served four years in the Army and later retired from the State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation with 42 years of service as an equipment operator. He will be sadly missed, but remembered by his daughter Ann Januszewski of Salem, four grandchildren, Stephanie and Matthew Januszewski, Brittany and Daniel McGraw, five great grandchildren Lacy Januszewski, Jason Schanfroth Jr., Adelina Torres; Rylie Wood and Andres McGraw and many extended family and friends. A special thanks to all the Hospice caregivers and the Hartford Health Care Home 24 hour caregivers which helped care for Ed during his final days.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 28th from 6 – 8 pm at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Colchester Road, Colchester, CT. A graveside funeral service will be held the following day on Friday, January 29, at 11 AM directly at the St. Joseph's Cemetery, (Route 85), Colchester.
