Eleanor Feldman 98, of Colchester, CT, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Eleanor was born on March 2, 1926, in Brooklyn, NY. Eleanor was the daughter of the late Harry and Rachel (Leventhal) Lockfeld. She grew up in New York and married her husband, Robert Feldman in 1947. Soon after they were married, the couple moved to Colchester, CT where they made their home and raised their family. Robert predeceased her in 2008 after 61 years together. Eleanor was a self-described “tough old bird” who had a no-nonsense way of living and raising her children. She loved traveling and all animals. Her memory will be a blessing, especially to her family. Eleanor is survived by her children, Rayna, Abby (Mark) Foballe, and Harvey (Barbara); her adored grandchildren, Megan & husband Ron Podovich, Lauren Foballe, and Benjamin Feldman; numerous extended family and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Mitchell Feldman. A graveside funeral service will be held at 12PM on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Colchester Jewish Aid Cemetery on Gilette’s Lane in Colchester, CT, with Rabbi Kenneth Alter officiating. Shiva will be observed at the home on Thursday, April 11th from 1PM with Minyan at 6:30PM. Kindly omit flowers—those who wish may make memorial donations to Ahavath Achim Synagogue, PO Box 5, Colchester, CT 06415. Care of arrangements entrusted to the Aurora McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester. To share a memory of Eleanor or a condolence message to her family, please visit www.auroramccarthyfuneralhome.com.
