Elizabeth “Betty” Mackey; a beloved mother, grandmother, business co-owner, and friend, passed away December 26th, 2021, after a full 86 years of life. She was born on September 5, 1935 to the late Stanley Krawiec and Nellie Pavilionis. She married the love of her life James “Jim” Mackey Jr. in April of 1956.
Betty owned and operated Mackey’s with her husband Jim, and then later with their daughter Diane and son-in-law Terry. Betty was very happy that today Mackey’s is a third generation family owned and operated local business.
Betty loved being a member of the Lebanon Seniors and going on all the trips that that active group would take together. She also loved just hanging out at the Senior Center participating in all their many activities. Betty loved to travel. She particularly enjoyed spending winters in her RV in Florida. She loved reading and gardening. In the past Betty enjoyed being a member of the Lebanon Ladies Guild and the Willimantic Soroptimist, where she even served as president at one time. But most of all, Betty enjoyed her family. She would cherish the time with her daughters, son-in-law’s and grandchildren.
Betty is predeceased by her husband Jim, her parents Stanley, Nellie, beloved step father, William Shanley, and her brother Bill Shanley.
Betty is survived by her daughter Diane and husband Terry Therrien of Columbia CT and their three children, Terry Jr. and his wife Chelsea Therrien, Jamie Therrien and Zachary Therrien, daughter Cheryl and husband Brian Millette of East Hartford CT and their three children Christopher and his wife Christine Millette, Danielle and her wife Maxanne Millette-Wordell, and Shayna Jones. Sisters, Maureen and husband Rick Wilson of Chino CA, and Trish Davidson of Chino CA. Brother-in-law Roman Nowak of South Deerfield Mass. Betty is also survived by eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
