Gaitanina (Guy, Gai, Nina) Graziano Donovan of North Franklin, CT. passed away peacefully at the age of 82, on Tuesday July 18th, 2023. Born in Ticonderoga, New York, she was the daughter of Luigi and Orsola (Cafaro) Graziano who immigrated from Italy in 1930. She had one brother, Dominick L. Graziano who predeceased her in 2014. Gaitanina was very proud of her Italian heritage and inspired by the tenacity and achievements of her parents and brother. She was a fun loving, strong, compassionate, accomplished woman. She finished her career as the President and CFO of G. Donovan Associates Construction after which she was a voracious traveler seeing at least 16 countries. When she wasn’t traveling, she liked to golf and socialize with friends. She was a member of the Bozrah Moose Club, Sons and Daughters of Italy, Colchester and Franklin Senior Centers, and sang in St. Andrew’s choir. Gaitanina is survived by her two children G. Scott Donovan along with his wife Regina Donovan, and Dianne Donovan Ostroski and her husband Stephen Ostroski. They have given her six grandchildren, Kelley Donovan, Kathryn Donovan Rossignol, K.J Donovan, Jeffery Erfe Donovan, Shannon Ostroski O’Leary, and Jessica Ostroski. She has 7 great grandchildren, Noah and Lucas O’Leary, Tucker, Griffen, Seraphina and Davina Donovan, and Remy Carver. She has a nephew and niece Christopher Graziano of Saratoga Springs, NY and Andrea G. Stella of Albany, NY. Calling hours will be Tuesday 7/25 from 9:30-10:30 am at the Aurora-McCarthy funeral home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester, CT. The funeral Mass will follow at 11 am at Saint Andrews church, 128 Norwich Ave., Colchester. Private inurnment will be at a later date in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY, where she will rest with her parents and her brother.
