Jack E. Briggs, 69, of Lebanon passed away at home with his family by his side on Saturday, August 1, 2020. Born June 30, 1951 in New London; he was a son of the late Homer and Helen (Picken) Briggs. Jack was a 1969 graduate of Fitch High school in Groton. In 1984 he married his wife Cathy Perrone, they settled in Lebanon in 1997 and raised two daughters Shannon and Alyson. For years Jack worked as a construction laborer for the Millstone Nuclear Energy company, and was a member of the Laborers' International Union Local 547. In his spare time he collected a variety of sports memorabilia and was a member of two Norwich bowling leagues. Jack was also an avid reader and enjoyed sharing some of his favorite books with both friends and family. He loved meeting his friends for just a coffee or breakfast, and playing games of cribbage or chess. However, his greatest joy in life would always be his family. Jack will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Cathy Briggs; daughters Shannon and Husband Stephen Hakenjos, and Alyson Briggs; sister Ruth and husband John Smead, brother Ernest and wife Elizabeth Briggs; his granddaughter Jade Hakenjos; and numerous extended family and friends.
