It is with great sorrow and deepest heartache that we announce the passing of our beloved son Jacob Edward Kniska. Jake returned home to God peacefully in his sleep at his home on October 4, 2023. Jake was born November 24,1988 on Thanksgiving Day. From the moment of his birth until the time of his passing he was loved and cherished unconditionally by his family and all who knew him. Throughout Jakes life he had a lifelong passion for athletics. In his youth he participated in football, baseball, basketball, and Tae kwon Do in which he earned his black belt. In high school he participated in football, basketball, baseball, and track. In his junior year at St. Bernards Highschool, Jake found a love for wrestling. He was at a late age to begin the sport but through dedication and hard work he excelled at it. Jake continued to wrestle at the college level at Plymouth State University. In addition, he competed in numerous adult wrestling and grappling tournaments, some of which were with his brother at his side. Jake found his real passion in all aspects of physical fitness. He became a dedicated personal trainer and nutritionist. He loved to help people be the healthiest and fittest that they could be. Jake loved the gym and working out. With his hard work he competed in competitive power lifting in which he excelled, breaking records for his age group. Jake’s latest passion was that of professional body building. He dedicated himself to all aspects of the sport with hard work and sacrifice. Jake competed in numerous competitions with great success, the last one being only a few days before his passing. Jake also was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He watched and cheered his team on at every chance he could. Jake will be dearly missed for his beautiful smile, infectious laugh, his sense of humor, and most of all his loving heart. Jake leaves behind his beloved parents Edward and Brenda Kniska of Colchester, His little brother Dylan Kniska of Marlborough for whom Jake loved and adored from the first moment he set eyes on him. Jake leaves behind his partner in life Kimberly Marcel, her three children and their two fur babies Thor and Teddy. Kim was the absolute love of his life, and we will be forever grateful for the true love that she showered on our son. Jake leaves behind a large and beloved extended family. Consisting of numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Jake treasured and enjoyed hanging out with them all, especially at family holidays and gatherings. Jake also leaves behind a network of friends, old and new, who he cherished. Jake was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Robert and Janice Martingano, his paternal grandparents Edward and Jean Kniska, his Uncle Robert Scott Martingano and his Auntie Colleen Martingano Sellick. The family asks in lieu of flowers that you do one kind thing for someone every day in Jakes memory as this will make a difference small or large in their lives. In addition, tell the people who are the dearest to you that you love them at every opportunity as this was Jakes daily practice. I love you were the first three words in his vocabulary. We love you our dearest boy always and forever until we are together again in Gods heaven. Services for Jake will be held at the Aurora-McCarthy funeral Home 167 Old Hartford Road Colchester CT. Callings hours will be from 2 to 4 PM on October 15, 2023. Immediately following calling hours will be a celebration of Jakes life at the Colchester Polish Club 395 S Main Street Colchester CT.
