James Russell Gould, 79, of Hebron passed away on Feb. 25, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born Dec. 29, 1945, in Hartford to James Gould and Barbara (Markstein) Gould.
He is survived by his loving wife Muriel Gould, his niece Jennifer Wells, her husband Jim Wells and their daughter Julia of Windsor Locks, CT, along with Jim Wells sons, Andrew and Jimmy. He is also survived by his sisters Barbara and Patricia Gould, R.S.M. of Florida, and Marjorie Stebbins of Bozeman, MT, 2 nephews Dan Stebbins of Bozeman and Dave Stebbins of Raleigh, NC.
Jim worked as a teacher in Naugatuck, CT for 3 years where he started and coached a girls basketball team for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. He enjoyed coaching the children and the team performed very well. Other school systems often wanted to take on the challenge of playing against his team. Jim loved coaching basketball.
He then went on to work in computer programming as a programming consultant for 20 years.
After retiring, every year he and his wife drove across the United States visiting all states and National Parks, learning everything they could about our country.
Any donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army.
